What Is Reach Ahead?

High school credits — earned a little early.

"Reach Ahead" simply means a Grade 8 student begins earning real Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) credits before officially starting Grade 9. The credits count toward graduation, and they give students a meaningful jump on their high school journey.

At Aubrey Academy, our Reach Ahead Program is built specifically for Grade 8 students who are ready, motivated, and looking for a more flexible path into high school. We help families choose the right course (or courses), then guide students through the work with real teacher support every step of the way.

Why Start Early

The Grade 9 advantage starts in Grade 8.

Reach Ahead isn't about racing through school. It's about giving students room to breathe, time to explore, and confidence to start strong.

Build confidence before high school

Walk into Grade 9 already knowing what an OSSD course feels like — and how to succeed in one.

Reduce future course pressure

Lighten the load in later years when academics, athletics, and university planning ramp up.

Explore interests early

Try business, geography, English, or healthy active living — and discover what your child loves.

Create timetable room

Free up future high school semesters for electives, co-op, AP, or specialized programs.

Support athletic & travel schedules

Designed around real life — practices, tournaments, training camps, and family travel.

Get ahead while learning online

Work from home, on the road, or between activities — without losing teacher support.
