Who should take HSP3U online?
HSP3U supports more than one pathway. Whether you are heading to university, college, an apprenticeship or the skilled trades, or straight into the workplace, this credit counts toward your OSSD.
- Students planning university studies in psychology, sociology, anthropology, social work, education or related fields
- Students heading to college programs in social services, child and youth care, community work or policing who want a foundation in human behaviour

Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology, Grade 11, University (HSP3U)
This course provides students with opportunities to think critically about theories, questions, and issues related to anthropology, psychology, and sociology. Students will develop an understanding of the approaches and research methods used by social scientists. They will be given opportunities to explore theories from a variety of perspectives, to conduct social science research, and to become familiar with current thinking on a range of issues within the three disciplines.
Prerequisite: The Grade 10 academic course in English, or the Grade 10 academic history course (Canadian and world studies)

How the online course works
- Register online and receive access to your course in Google Classroom.
- Learn at your pace with lessons and assignments. Your teacher returns feedback and grades, usually within 3 to 5 business days.
- Complete your assessments as you finish each unit, with support from your teacher along the way.
- Receive your credit. We send your final mark to your home school and submit it to OUAC.

What is the prerequisite for HSP3U?
The Ontario prerequisite for HSP3U is the Grade 10 academic course in English (ENG2D) or the Grade 10 academic Canadian history course (CHC2D).
Do I need HSP3U for university?
HSP3U is a useful foundation for many social science, psychology and social work programs, although specific requirements vary. Check the admission requirements for each program you are applying to.
What can I take after HSP3U?
HSP3U provides a strong foundation for Grade 12 university preparation social science courses such as HSB4U, Challenge and Change in Society.
How long does HSP3U take online?
The course has 110 hours of lessons. You have 4 months from enrollment, and extensions are available up to 12 months in total. Many students finish sooner because the course is self-paced.
Will my HSP3U mark be accepted?
Yes. Aubrey Academy is Ministry-inspected, and we submit your final grade directly to OUAC and send your report card to your home school.
I already took HSP3U. Can I raise my mark?
Yes. Our Mark Upgrade option builds on the work you already completed instead of retaking the full course.
